The Nairobi Ni Yetu Peace Campaign was held at Daystar University Nairobi Campus on Wednesday, 6th July 2022, themed: Amani ni jukumu langu. The event was focused on promoting peace ahead of the general elections on 9th August 2022.
Daystar Hosts Industry Academia Workshop
On Wednesday 20th July 2022, Daystar University hosted the first ever, Industry-Academia workshop at the University’s Nairobi Campus. The networking engagement was aimed at addressing gaps that existed between classroom teaching and industry expectations.
Vice-chancellor promises to support sports teams
The Vice-chancellor Prof. Laban P. Ayiro has promised to support sportsmen and women across the various Daystar Falcons teams. The VC spoke recently when he hosted the Daystar Falcons Rugby team to lunch at his official Athi River Campus residence.
Fulbright Scholar at Daystar University for the May 2022 Semester
Prof. Kehbuma Langmia, a Fulbright Scholar/Professor from Howard University is in Daystar University as a visiting Professor in the School of Communication.
Daystar University receives visiting Professors
On August 4, 2022, Daystar University received two visiting professors from two American universities. Prof. Dale Johnson from the University of Maryland and Prof. LeAnn Johnson from Shepard’s University will teach in the School of Business and Economics, and the School of Arts and Social Sciences respectively, during the August/December 2022 semester.
PRSK launches Certification programme in collabration with Daystar University
Nairobi, 4th August 2022 – The Public Relations Society of Kenya has today launched its premier certification programme dubbed Certified Public Relations Professional (CPRCP) course. The launch event took place today at breakfast meeting held at the Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel in Nairobi. The course, the first of its kind in East Africa, was crafted by local professors and senior practitioners with the African Public Relations Practitioner in mind. The programme is a key component of the proposed Institute of Public Relations and Communications Management (IPRAC) Bill, which is currently awaiting approval by parliament.
Daystar University wins Ksh 59 million grant for Environmental Education research among Kenyan schools
Daystar University has won a Ksh 59 million grant (US$ 0.5 million) from the United Nations Peace and Development Trust Fund (UN-PDTF). The grant, titled: Assessment of the Effectiveness of Environmental Education in Kenyan Schools, will see Daystar University, through its Directorate of Research and Graduate Studies (DRGS), conduct a study over the next 24 months.
Dr. George Njoroge appointed as Chairman of Daystar University Council
The Daystar Company Limited, the Sponsor of Daystar University, has appointed Dr. George Njoroge as the next Chairman of the Daystar University Council for a renewable term of three years. His appointment takes effect on 1st July 2022 and will last until 30th June 2025.
Application for November 2022 45th Graduation
Application for November Graduation is now open. Only students who have completed their programs are encouraged to apply in advance. Students who are yet to complete will have to wait until they have all the grades before they apply. The application process required the applicant to download the attached application form. Print it and visit the office of the university registrar to get the final degree audit, before proceeding to your HOD/Dean.
All-African Conference of Churches (AACC) Continental Consultative Meeting
Deputy Director ODEL, Dr. Martin Munyao will give a keynote address at the All-African Conference of Churches (AACC) Continental Consultative Meeting on Climate Change, on 21st June 2022. His conference opening speech will be on the ‘Biblical and Theological Reflections on Climate Change’. The conference which is held at Desmond Tutu Conference Center in Westlands, Nairobi is a learning space on Climate Change matters for Faith leaders from different regions of the continent. It seeks to support faith leaders to become effective change agents and eco-justice activists.â€
Sr. Prof. A. L. Lando awarded in Paris by the International Communication Association
Sr. Prof. A. L. Lando was on 29th May 2022 awarded during the Presidential address of the International Communication Associations (ICA) 72nd Annual Conference. The ceremony was held at Palais des Congres in Paris, France. Sr. Prof. Lando was recognized for her immense service to the development of ICA on Africa and service to the field of communication as mentor and evangelist for cross-cultural dialogue.
New Students officially admitted to Daystar
The May 2022 trimester intake closed on June 11, with 900 students admitted into Daystar University. Students who reported in the first week of admission were matriculated at a ceremony held at the Main Campus, Athi River on May 18, 2022.

Daystar hypes marketing activities ahead of May 2022 intake
This past week, Daystar University heightened its marketing activities ahead of the May and August 2022 intakes. Three marketing events ran concurrently from April 18-22, 2022 namely the Kenya Secondary School Heads Association conference held in Mombasa, the ECOH Conference held in Arusha Tanzania, and the ACK Bishops Annual Conference held at the All Africa Conference of Churches in Nairobi. The theme of the conference was “Wholesome living for a wholesome Nation: Road to 2022 elections and beyondâ€.
Research dissemination workshop for Implementation of Child protection and safeguard policy
On April 20, 2022, the Daystar University Institute of Child Development led by Dr. Roseline Olumbe, held a workshop to disseminate finding of a research on the implementation of the child protection and safeguarding policy.
