Speaking at the dedication ceremony, the Vice-chancellor pointed out that student numbers had increased over the last three years, necessitating the University to expand its infrastructure which includes its vehicular fleet and instructional facilities.  He said that in addition to the ongoing School of Nursing complex, construction of the proposed David Musau Mumama Learning Complex  will soon commence.  The learning complex will house lecture halls, a new moot court for Law students, and meeting halls.

The VC further explained that it is for the same reason that the University found it necessary to purchase a 62-seater bus for use by students, especially Daystar Falcons teams as they go for their sporting activities.

“Today we dedicate a 62-seater luxury coach, bought because of the happiness the Falcons have brought to the University. “The Falcons Rugby team has done us proud,” said the VC as he congratulated the five Daystar Falcons Rugby team members who have been included in the National Under20 championships ongoing in Nairobi.  The five include Geylord Ngasi, Mike Oduor, Wickliffe Ogutu, Eddie Wambugu and Nathan Tsindoli.

The bus was dedicated by Company Member Bishop Emeritus Rt. Rev. Joseph Kanuku, Company Board Vice-chair Dr. Stanley Mukolwe and the University Chaplain, Rev. Miano Weche.

The new coach has been well received by the students.

“I am excited to see our new bus. It is luxurious and will provide our sports men and women comfort and safety as they travel to and from competitions. I believe it will serve the Falcons community and Daystar University at large well, and for a long period of time,” said Derrick Olubala, Sports Secretary Nairobi Campus.

"It looks really good. Its very specious and comfortable. It is worth the long wait and we thank God," said the Rugby Captain Augustine Owino.

The bus was assembled by Isuzu East Africa, while the body was built by Master Fabricators.
