Sr. Prof. A. L. Lando awarded in Paris by the International Communication Association

Sr. Prof. A. L. Lando was on 29th May 2022 awarded during the Presidential address of the International Communication Associations (ICA) 72nd Annual Conference. The ceremony was held at Palais des Congres in Paris, France. Sr. Prof. Lando was recognized for her immense service to the development of ICA on Africa and service to the field of communication as mentor and evangelist for cross-cultural dialogue.

Daystar signs MOU with Universite Lumiere de Bujumbura

On 21st April 2022, Daystar University (DU) signed a three-year renewable Memorandum of Understanding with Universite Lumiere de Bujumbura Burundi (Burundi Light University) that will see both institutions collaborate in identified areas of mutual interest.

Vice Chancellor away in USA

Daystar Chess Falcons Team Shines In Nakuru

The year 2020 took away the joy of playing sports physically due to COVID-19 pandemic. While the Chess team resorted to play online, this could not replace the thrill of physical Chess. The Nakuru Open 2021 brought positive vibe as Daystar University sent a team of 8 players: 6 Men and 2 Ladies, under the leadership of Karan Christie who graduated last year. The two-day tournament saw over 120 players from across Kenya converge at the Waterbuck Hotel on 31 st July and 1st August 2021. The game consisted of 7 rounds; the largest and most competitive tourney for the last two years

Daystar to replace Asbestos roofing with safe Iron sheets

On August 9, 2021, Daystar University received 28 tons of roofing iron sheets from Maisha Mabati in Ruiru town, a subsidiary of DEVKI Group of Companies. The 28 tons will replace asbestos roofing for the entire PAC Court including the Vice-chancellors block, Administration, Admissions and Records, Finance and DVC Academic offices, as well as the School of Law block, at Lukenya.

Jubilation as Nairobi Campus Communication Studio is dedicated

During the meeting, Daystar US Board members donated Kes12 Mill on the spot while the University of Northwestern in St. Paul’s Minnesota donated studio equipment. Prof. Ayiro recalled his meeting with Prof. Alan Cureton, President of the University of Northwestern, who responded, “I’ll see what I can do”, to his plea for support.

On Wednesday, 9th June, 2021, Prof. Winnie Mucherah, a Carnegie Fellow from Ball State University, Muncie Indiana facilitated a workshop for faculty and Administrative staff engaged in teaching, on the topic, Scholarship, Balance and Health.
