This week, Daystar University Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban Ayiro attended the Annual General Meeting of the Kenya Association of Private Universities held at Kabarak University held on 17th August 2023.
Among key issues discussed was the newly announced government funding model. subsequently, KAPU will be urging the Government to review the funding model.
Private Universities are proud to be associated with the quality of tertiary and higher education in Kenya. Private universities were established to meet felt needs in the provision of higher education in Kenya, a gap for which they continue to make significant contributions.
In a joint statement, the Vice chancellors present acknowledged that parents and students continue to appreciate the quality of education, training, values and innovation acquired in private institutions of higher learning.
"These have been the hallmarks of the quality of education from private universities. The fact that every year more and more students have chosen and have been placed by KUCCPS to study in private universities is a testament to these facts."
In the meantime, private universities have put in place measures to support their sustainability.
