Daystar Community enhances its forest cover
On Friday 17th November 2023, Daystar University in conjunction with the Kenya Forest Service planted 2,000 seedlings at the Heroes’ Corner, Main Campus Athi River. The 2000 were part of 10,000 seedlings donated by the Kenya Forest Service. The tree planting event came soon after the national Tree Planting Day declared by the Government of Kenya on Monday 13th November, intended to boost the country’s forest cover towards the targeted planting of 100 million trees.

Daystar University Launches Lacrosse Sport
Lacrosse is a traditional game played by eastern woodlands native Americans and some Plains Indian tribes in what is now the United States of America and Canada. The game involves two men’s teams tossing a ball into the air, and both sides rushing to catch it. Years later Lacrosse is still a popular sport played all over the world.

My name is Mr. Joseph Rono, and I have the honor of serving as the Group Executive Director of the largest pension fund in Kenya (CPF Financial Services). It is indeed a pleasure to be here today for the benefit of this esteemed institution.
Celebrating the life of Mrs. Faye Smith, 1928 - 2023
Daystar University announces the transition to glory of Faye Smith that happened on Friday 6th October, 2023. Faye was born on 26th December 1928 in Eugene, Oregon, USA, and married Donald Kendall Smith on 25th June, 1950. They began their missionary career in 1952 in South Africa. Don and Faye later relocated to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where they started Daystar Communications with Motsoko Pheko. In 1974 they acquired property in Nairobi with great support from US friends and the Tyndale Foundation in particular, for Daystar Communications, which would later become Daystar University College. Later in 1994, Daystar University College was awarded a Charter by the Government of Kenya to become Daystar University.

Daystar University receives international research grant from CCCU
NAIROBI, Kenya) — Daystar University has received a research grant from The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU), based in Washington DC in USA. Announcing the 2023 research grants in Washington DC on 19th September 2023, CCCU President Shirley Hoogstra confirmed that a total of US$ 68,000 was released to five research teams comprising a total 23 scholars representing 11 CCCU member colleges and universities, and four additional institutions which include Daystar University.
