TARDA donates 1500 trees to Daystar University

Meanwhile on 24th March 2022, Daystar University received yet another1,500 trees from Tana and Athi River Development Authority (TARDA). The trees were delivered to Athi River Campus by a team of 10 people led by the Managing Director/CEO Mr. Liban Duba.

DLPDI Equips Teachers with Mental Health intervention skills

On Friday, 25th March 2022, The Daystar Leadership and Professional Development Institute (DLPDI) graduated high school teachers upon completion of a week-long training on Mental Health Intervention Skills for Educators. The training attracted teachers from Pangani Girls High School, Friends School Kamusinga and Moi Girls School-Nairobi. The objective of the training was to equip teachers with skills to detect, assess and intervene in mental health cases among students and youth.

Vice Chancellor pushes US Engagements

Prof. Laban P. Ayiro ended the pre-Easter week with a visit to the University of Northwestern where he met the President Dr. Alan Cureton and Prof. Mark Seignious of UNW Radio KTIS. Prof. Seignious was part of the UNW/KTIS team that travelled to Nairobi last June to set up the Daystar University Communication studios.

Sensitizing Workshop for Journalists on Reporting Education Issues.

On February 17, 2022, the Media Council of Kenya organized a workshop to train journalists on reporting education issues at Daystar University Nairobi Campus. Participants were drawn from different media houses in the country. The journalists agreed that most reporting on education is about National exams results, wrangles and scandals at KNUT and TSC among other negative things yet there is so much to be reported on Education.
