Vice Chancellor Away on Official Duty

The VC Prof. Laban P. Ayiro addresses INCHE Conference in Europe 2025

[Nairobi, April 6, 2025] The Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban P. Ayiro is away on official duty in Europe and USA.

On 9th April, the Vice Chancellor attended the INCHE Global Conference 2025 in the Netherlands where he paid a moving tribute to the late Prof. Faith Nguru, former DVC Academic, Research and Student Affairs at Daystar University.  Prof. Faith Nguru, who passed on last November was a strong focal point for INCHE at Daystar University. 

During the conference, the VC met with the former President of the University of Northwestern in St. Paul Minnesota, Prof. Allan Cureton.  The two spent some intimate time in prayer before the VC left for the US.

The International Network for Christian Higher Education (INCHE) in Europe runs from 7th - 11th April.  The VC was accompanied by Rev. Steven Nduto, Lecturer in the Department of Theology and Pastoral Studies, and his Executive Personal Assistant Ms. Mary Njeri.  Rev. Nduto is Chairman of the Organizing Committee of INCHE Africa Conference which is scheduled to take place in Nairobi later this year.

Daystar University will host the INCHE Africa Conference at CORAT Africa in Nairobi, Kenya from 7th - 9th July 2025. The continental conferences are part of 50 years celebrations since the establishment of the International Network for Christian Higher Education (INCHE) in Africa, in 1975.

During his absence, Prof. Ayiro has appointed the Deputy Vice Chancellor - Finance, Administration and Planning, Prof. Muturi Wachira, as the Acting Vice Chancellor from Monday 7th April to 27th April 2025.
