Daystar University hosts guests from USA

Rev. Ricky Bolden introduces members of his team during chapel service, Main Campus Athi River

[Athi River, Tuesday May 28, 2024], Daystar University hosted visitors from United States of America at the  Main Campus Athi River. The guests who included Rev. Dr. Rickey Bolden, Earl Ishmal, Vincent Turner, Angelo Hicks, Caleb Bolden, Doug Spalding, Jeffrey Howe and Arman Ishmael attended chapel service where Rev. Ricky preached. The group connected with the Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban Ayiro during their recent visit to USA.

The team was in Kenya to attend the national Prayer Breakfast, meet with Christian leaders, business people, and share the gospel of Christ through missions and worship activities.

At a special breakfast hosted by the VC before the chapel service, Prof. Laban P. Ayiro reiterated his desire to conserve the environment. He revealed that the University intends to plant 200,000 trees, with around 40,000 trees so far planted. Also attending the same chapel service where students from Shepherd University and the the University of Maryland who are at Daystar for the Study Abroad Programme

In a Shine FM radio interview hosted by Wachera Ndichu, Earl Ishmal exhorted listeners to plant seeds of love, grace and encouragement. “Perseverance comes from the love of God; if you allow God to take control, He will take care of everything,” he said.

The month of May being month of mental wellness, Rev. Bolden pointed out that mental wellness was a key aspect in the lives of every individual. He urged people to seek counselling to seek help and exercise a lot.

The visitors planted different species of trees at DUSA Park in Athi River Campus. Later the visitors where taken on a guided campus tour around the university and were impressed by the good infrastructure in Daystar University.
