Former Makueni County Governor, now Daystar University School of Law lecturer, Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, is among the advocates who have been conferred the prestigious rank of Senior Counsel, according to a Special Issue of the Kenya Gazette published on December 10, 2025.

The conferment, made under the Advocates Act by President William Samoei Ruto, recognizes exemplary service and outstanding contributions to legal scholarship, constitutionalism, and public service in Kenya.

The rank of Senior Counsel is the highest professional distinction awarded to advocates in the country.

Daystar University congratulates Prof. Kivutha Kibwana on this well-deserved honor and celebrates his continued contribution to legal education and national leadership.
