Bishop J. B. Masinde is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Deliverance Church International – Umoja; General Secretary of Deliverance Church International, and a member of the Apostolic Council and Deliverance Church Council. In these positions, he offers support to the General Overseer as well as leadership in administrative and doctrinal aspects of local church management. He is a prolific Bible expositor and teacher whose ministry has touched many lives for the last 45 years. He was ordained into Ministry in 1984 and Consecrated in 2004.
As part of the Salt and Light International Ministries in Oxford, United Kingdom, Bishop Masinde receives and offers support to other Fathers of the Faith across the globe, strengthening the five-fold ministry gifts, especially the apostolic and prophetic, as a basis for strong local churches.
In the past, he has also served on the boards of the Bible Society of Kenya, Life Ministry Kenya, and the Nairobi International School of Theology, (now International Leadership University).
He holds two Honorary Doctorate degrees in Philosophy in Humanities (2010) from the United Graduate College & Seminary (Indianapolis, USA), and a Doctorate in Ministry (2006) from the European Theological Seminary (United Kingdom); a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology (1988-1990) from the East Africa School of Theology (Nairobi, Kenya); a Diploma in Bible and Theology (1982) from International Bible Training College (Lagos, Nigeria).
