About

Courses in Midwifery, Reproductive Health Nursing build upon the foundation courses to provide competency in the management of patients and clients in the reproductive health space. The student is exposed to clinical placement that allows for development of skills and in all aspects of reproductive health. The critical thinking and clinical decision making required for the Midwife to work independently and collaboratively is taught and demonstrated.

Requirements

Applicants must meet entry requirements set by the Nursing Council of Kenya. Direct Entry applicants must have a Mean Grade of C+ in KCSE or its Equivalent with a C+ in four Cluster Subjects namely English, Mathematics/Physics, Chemistry and Biology; or 2 Principal passes and above in KACE, with at least one in Biology and one in Chemistry.

Applicants upgrading from Diploma to BSc Nursing require a diploma in any of the following:

  • Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN)
  • Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN) or
  • Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery (KRN/M) or
  • Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry (KRN/MHP) or
  • Kenya Registered Midwifery (KRM)
