The Ag. VC Prof. Wachira presents certificates to ISO Internal Quality Auditors

[Thursday, January 23, 2025] Today, the Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Muturi Wachira presented certificates to Daystar staff attended the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 19011:2018 Internal Quality Auditors Training Course.  The final training course in preparation for ISO certification was held at Voi Wildlife Lodge from June 3-6, 2024, where staff also took an external examination administered by Sleek Management Consultancy, on behalf of the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS). 

Following confirmation of passing the final course, the Internal Auditors will now prepare the University for ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Prof. Wachira appreciated efforts the staff were making towards certification, and urged the University community to embrace and support the process when the Internal Auditors  

“Being ISO certified means we are seeking to enhance one of our ethos as a University - excellence – as we strive for quality service delivery. This has been truly shown through the exemplary work achieved by the staff to whom we present certificates today,” said Prof. Wachira.

Among those awarded was the immediate former DVC- Academic, Research and Student Affairs Prof. Faith Nguru, who was trained to champion excellence in teaching and learning.  Prof. Faith Nguru passed on last December.  The event culminated with a vote of thanks and prayer from the Acting DVC-FAP , CPA Phyllis Mutua, who assisted Prof. Wachira to present the certificates.
