The Channah leadership development program for She-Pastors and Pastors’ Wives, held at Daystar University's Nairobi Campus DAC Auditorium recently concluded its morning session with a powerful message on emotional intelligence and self-discovery.

The event, targeted Bishops and pastors’ wives, aimed to equip female clergy with the tools necessary to navigate the challenges of their roles within the church setting.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Vera Makena, herself a Bishop's wife, shared her personal experiences and insights on how to effectively manage emotions and build strong relationships. She emphasized the importance of the four competencies of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, and relationship management.

Dr. Makena's interactive session provided practical strategies for dealing with common issues such as gossip within the church and resolving misunderstandings. She also discussed the importance of confidence and self-assurance for women serving in the church.

The morning session concluded with an engaging ice-breaker activity, where attendees participated in a mini-dance, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among the female clergy.

The Channah program which is focused on emotional intelligence and self-discovery, underscores the importance of equipping female leaders with the necessary skills to enable them navigate the unique challenges they face in their roles within the church, and to strengthen the leadership capabilities of bishops and pastors' wives, ultimately contributing to the growth and well-being of their respective congregations.
