Daystar University Signs MOU with Huawei Academy Kenya

Daystar University, through the School of Science, Engineering and Health has signed a teaching-learning enhancement MOU with Huawei Academy. The MOU will see Daystar University become a training centre for Huawei ICT Academy, with students, faculty and other interested learners taking Huawei training and the following globally acclaimed ICT certification:
Daystar University, through the School of Science, Engineering and Health has signed a teaching-learning enhancement MOU with Huawei Academy.
The MOU will see Daystar University become a training centre for Huawei ICT Academy, with students, faculty and other interested learners taking Huawei training and the following globally acclaimed ICT certification:
- Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA) in Routing & Switching.
- Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA) in Cloud Computing..
The main activities will include:
1. Training and learning resources
- Lecturer Training using the Train-The-Trainer model on Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), both online and blended learning.
- Organize certification exam for ICT lecturers
- Offer certification training course at Daystar for both staff and students starting July 2021.
- Huawei to support with Certification Exam voucher and provide data bundle for the learners who choose to learn online.
This will target student trainees including Management Information System (MIS), Applied Computer Science and Diploma in Information Communication Technology students
2. Give opportunity for ICT and other interested students to take part in the global Huawei ICT Competition Registration link: h ttps://reurl.cc/MA7OV4
3. Recruit Daystar students as Huawei ambassadors—starting August 2021.
With the signing of the MOU, this makes Daystar University a centre and part of Huawei Academy Kenya.
The Vice chancellor Prof. Laban P. Ayiro and Dean School of Science, Engineering and Health, Dr. Martha W. Kiarie represented Daystar University.
Huawei ICT Academy was represented by Yan Qiao, Huawei Technologies and Huawei ICT Academy Manager, Michael Kamau.
