DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR - ACADEMIC RESEARCH AND STUDENT AFFAIRS DIVISION

SCHOOL OF NURSING 
Due to rapid expansion in our Nursing program, the Departments of Medical and surgical Nursing and Midwifery and Reproductive Health is seeking to employ qualified and experienced  Lecturer and Clinical  Instructors. 

LECTURER - DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL SURGICAL NURSING  - 2 POSITIONS

The purpose of the job

Contributing to the scholarship and intellectual life of the university by teaching, conducting research and mentoring students in line with the University’s guidelines in academic affairs to achieve overall objectives

Requirements

  • Christian commitment and practice
  • Earned PhD in Nursing  from an accredited University.
  • Master’s in medical Surgical Nursing and or Master’s in Nursing Education in addition to BSc Nursing from an accredited university.
  • At least three (3) years teaching experience at university level or in research/industry; and
  • A minimum of 24 publication points of which at least 16 should be from refereed journal papers
  • Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops.
  • Evidence of active participation in school/departmental activities or demonstrated leadership in university activities.
  • Registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya and with a valid Practice License

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid (teaching online and face to face-to-face ): Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in both environments.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching and training of students in line with schemes, policies, processes and procedures
  • Conducting quality research to enhance the scholarship, visibility and intellectual contribution of the University.
  • Evaluating students through continuous assessments and examinations
  • Engaging in curriculum and program review and development
  • Mobilizing resources and building bridges with industry
  • Mentoring of students in academic and spiritual nurture
  • Implementing best practices in teaching, training and research for improved performance and achievements.
  • Implementing change initiatives to achieve desired university strategic goals
  • Ensuring consistent Christian behavior in line with the university’s vision

LECTURER - DEPARTMENT OF MIDWIFERY AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH  NURSING -3 POSITIONS

The purpose of the job

Requirements

  • Masters in Midwifery and reproductive health Nursing in addition to BSc Nursing from an accredited university.

CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR - SCHOOL OF NURSING – 3 POSITIONS

The purpose of the job:

Contributing to the scholarship and intellectual life of the university by teaching, conducting research and mentoring students in line with the University’s guidelines in academic affairs to achieve overall objectives.

Requirements

  • Christian commitment and practice.
  • Applicants with Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
  • Three  (3) years Clinical  teaching experience since graduation.
  • Additional training or certification in the relevant area will be an added advantage.
  • Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya

Working Conditions:

  • Physical (face-to-face ): Applicants must be adaptable and open to working in the clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitation of Teaching and learning in clinical and classroom practicum sessions in line with the curriculum.
  • Evaluating students through continuous assessments and examinations in skills lab and clinical setting.
  • Engaging in curriculum and program review to enhance best practice to integrate theory to practice through  clinical instruction.
  • Mentoring of students in academic and spiritual nurture
  • Implementing change initiatives to achieve desired university strategic goals
  • Ensuring consistent Christian behavior in line with the university’s vision

Background Screening:
