Safaricom Foundation Chairperson, Joe Ogutu pays the University a Courtesy Visit

Mr. Joe Ogutu, the Chairman Safaricom Foundation paid a courtesy call to the University on Monday July 8th, 2024. He was accompanied by Mr. Desmond Mtula, the Chair of the Finance & Resource Mobilization Committee of the University Council. Upon arrival, they were received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Laban Ayiro, the Director Resource Mobilization, Ms. Jaki Mathaga and the Ag. Corporate Affairs & Marketing Manager, Mr. Alex Mutuku.

Mr. Joe Ogutu, the Chairman Safaricom Foundation paid a courtesy call to the University on Monday July 8th, 2024. He was accompanied by Mr. Desmond Mtula, the Chair of the Finance & Resource Mobilization Committee of the University Council.
Upon arrival, they were received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Laban Ayiro, the Director Resource Mobilization, Ms. Jaki Mathaga and the Ag. Corporate Affairs & Marketing Manager, Mr. Alex Mutuku.

The visit appreciated a campus tour to the Heroes corner, the School of Nursing Complex, the Musau Mumama Learning Center, the Library, the Mayin Water Treatment Plant and the Jack & Camie Eugster Gym.

“I am elated to see and hear of the University’s concerted efforts on infrastructure development, agriculture and and the stewardship of the environment,’’ remarked, Mr. Joe Ogutu.  

Joe went on to explain on the Safaricom Foundation mandate that continues to impact the lives of close to eight million people within and without the republic of Kenya.

On his part, Prof. Laban Ayiro pointed on the University’s commitment on the development of the innovation and learning centre under the Directorate of Research, Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship (DRICE), focus on quality education across all the university programmes offerings and infrastructure development across both campuses.

In his remarks, Mr., Desmond Mtula observed that Safaricom Foundation’s partnership with Daystar University will be a cause of immense impact owing to the spread of the students on campus and even the improvement of the quality of life in the neighboring community, chimed
