The Masters in Clinical Psychology programme aims to expose students to practical and experiential learning and psychometric assessments to sharpen their professions skills, attitudes and habits. A graduate of Daystar University will be equipped with in-depth knowledge and mastery of biological, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual contributors to mental illness through lifespan and manage them appropriately.
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale or an Upper Second Class Honours. A Lower Second Class Honours with 2 years' relevant work experience may be considered.
Applicants with a first degree in fields unrelated to Psychology studies may be admitted but will be required to start with a specific zero credit hours in Counselling Psychology to ground them.
Applicants from undergraduate in Counselling Psychology will not be exempted from any course or have any credit transfers since this is an advanced level programme.
The Graduates of this programme will work in educational institutions, health institutions, humanitarian organisations, agencies & centers, NGOs, faith-based organisations, correctional institutions among others. The graduates will increase capacity building in mental health professional in prevention and management of mental health in a specialized holistic manner.
