Public Relations Association of Daystar launched

Public Relations Association of Daystar (PRAD) was launched on Wednesday 6th July 2022. The theme of the event was: make contact - build relationships - get results. It was attended by Daystar Communication students, majoring in public relations and their lecturers.

Public Relations Association of Daystar (PRAD) was launched on Wednesday 6th July 2022. The theme of the event was: make contact - build relationships - get results. It was attended by Daystar Communication students, majoring in public relations and their lecturers.
The Acting Dean, School of Communication, Dr. Kinya Mwithia welcome external guests to Daystar University. She advised the students not to just let their university life drift by, without achieving anything.
The guest speakers for the day included the CEO, Public Relations Society of Kenya Sylvia Mwichuli, and the General Manager and Chief Strategist, Tell-Em PR EA, Joel Chacha.
Mr. Chacha mentioned that PR is more often than not mistaken for events management and advised students to be at par with their writing skills.
Ms.Mwichuli reiterated that the Public Relations is not for the faint-hearted and those that are comfortable in doing the bare minimum. “For you to define your career path, you must interact with industry,” she advised.
“We want everyone to know what PRAD is about,” said Ms. Eunice Waweru, the Founding President of PRAD. Eunice stated that PRAD will give PR students opportunity to connect with professionals in the market.
