DRGS patents Interuniversity Graduate Students' Forum (Igsf)

On 15th October 2022, the Directorate of Graduate Studies (DRGS) secured the registration of the Interuniversity Graduate Students' Forum (Igsf) as an intellectual property of Daystar University for a period of 10 years. The Igsf patent allows Daystar University to offer advertising services (Class 35), education services (Class 41), and research services (Class 42).
On 15th October 2022, the Directorate of Graduate Studies (DRGS) secured the registration of the Interuniversity Graduate Students' Forum (Igsf) as an intellectual property of Daystar University for a period of 10 years.
The Igsf patent allows Daystar University to offer advertising services (Class 35), education services (Class 41), and research services (Class 42).
The IP Certificate of Registration was issued by the Kenya Intellectual Property Institute KIPI. The effective date of registration is 25th October 2021 and shall expire on 25 October 2031.
Igsf was initiated by the Daystar University Directorate of Research and Graduate Studies at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, with the aim of offering online remedial classes to graduate students.
Igsf attracted graduate students from other Universities as well as non-student researchers.
“It is a great joy for Daystar University that the Interuniversity Graduate Students' Forum (Igsf) has been successfully registered as DU's intellectual property by KIPI,” said DRGS Director, Prof. Agnes Lucy Lando.
