Daystar University to pilot ICT and Innovation project

The Principal Nairobi Campus Prof. Michael Bowen has welcomed a collaborative project which, if implemented, will see Daystar University launch a pilot project on ICT and Innovation in partnership with the Ministry of Education, and several other partners.

The Principal Nairobi Campus Prof. Michael Bowen has welcomed a collaborative project which, if implemented, will see Daystar University launch a pilot project on ICT and Innovation in partnership with the Ministry of Education, and several other partners.
The discussions took place on 15th December 2022, when Prof. Bowen hosted, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, a delegation of eight from Energy Circle Holdings in Australia, Energy Circle Africa, EcoCARE Africa Trust, Global Gardens of Peace, and Tana and Athi River Development Authority (TARDA), at Daystar Nairobi Campus.
The delegation was led by Mr. Gary Chan of Energy Circle Holdings in Australia, EcoCARE Africa Trust and Global Gardens of Peace, and included Mr. Douglas Sidialo from Energy Circle Africa, Mr. Stanley Mutuma from EcoCARE Africa Trust, Ms. Rebecca Bor from TARDA, and four others.
Others present from Daystar University included the Director of Academic Affairs, Prof. Samuel Muriithi, and the Director of ODeL Dr. Caroline Ayuya.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Mr. Chan who is a member of Co-Founder and Chair of Energy Circle Holdings, EcoCARE Africa Trust and Committee Member of Global Peace of Gardens, thanked the Vice Chancellor for the welcome and intimated they were seeking to collaborate in such areas as renewable energies, health, education, youth, culture, community development, policy and research.
Mr. Chan revealed that they currently were implementing projects in Asia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Niger, DRC, and Somaliland, among other countries.
Mr. Sidialo added that they had visited the Ministry of Education on the pilot project and were waiting to receive a nod from a local institution to proceed with implementation. He also noted that soon the team will be meeting the Parliamentary Committee on Education.
He further expressed willingness to support Daystar University to establish a model Global Peace Garden in Kenya.
Both teams agreed to meet soon to launch the partnership.
