Corporate Affairs Department sustains student recruitment drive

The last three week have been packed as the Corporate Affairs Department intensifies future student recruitment. On Friday 10th March 2023, Sosnes Olindo and a team of marketers hosted students from Hospital Hill High School at the Main Campus Athi River. Sosnes gave a career talk, presentation on Daystar programmes, and a Campus tour.
The last three weeks have been packed as the Corporate Affairs Department intensified future student recruitment.
On Friday 10th March 2023, Sosnes Olindo and a team of marketers hosted students from Hospital Hill High School at the Main Campus Athi River. Sosnes gave a career talk, presentation on Daystar programmes, and a Campus tour.
On the same day, two marketing teams set out to marketing events in different parts of the country.
The Head of marketing, Alex Mutuku led a team of marketers to a career fair at AIC Chebisaas Boys High School in Eldoret, attended by several high schools. Other universities and institutions present included Strathmore University, Africa Nazarene University, Karatina University, KUCCPS, Kabarak University, Discovery Adventure, and other recruitment agencies.
The team also visited ACK Cathedral Eldoret on Saturday 11th March to further establish connections and networks with the residents of Eldoret.
Back in Nairobi, Sosnes Olindo and his team hosted Ndurarua High School at the Nairobi Campus on Saturday 11th March 2023 where he gave a career and motivational talk.
The team was joined by the daughter of Dr. Donald and Mrs. Faye Smith, Dr. Julisa Rowe, who also gave a presentation, responded to questions raised by the high schoolers.
On her part, the Public Relations Officer, Ms. Jean Murungi joined the Vice-chancellor Prof. Laban Ayiro at St. Michael’s Kabaa High School in Yatta from 10th - 11th March, where she guided this year’s KCSE candidate class on career choices, how to apply, life on campus, and the importance of building one’s character.
On Sunday, 12th March, Ms. Murungi proceeded to AIC Mbooni Girls, where she addressed over 2,000 students and teachers at a Christian Union weekend challenge. Afterwards, the team had individual career counselling sessions with the students.
The team also paid courtesy visits to the principals of St. Teresa Mbooni Girls and Mbooni Boys.
From 3rd - 6th March, Mr. Olindo led a marketing campaign to Homa Bay County where they engaged with several schools among them Homa Bay Boys High School, Sacred Heart Mukumu Girls, Moi Girls Vokoli Girls, Kaplong Boys and Girls besides others.
On 1st March, Mr. Alex Mutuku undertook door-to-door visits in different schools at the Coast region. These included Braeburn International School, Light Academy International School, Coast Academy, Oshwal Academy, Aga Khan Academy, Aa Khan High School, Mombasa Academy, Shimo la Tewa High School, and Allidina Visram High School. The team also gave career advice to Form Four students at Sheikh Khalifa Secondary School and JCC High School. The main event was a Career Fair organized by Jeffery Academy Mombasa, which attracted different schools in the region. It was a good opportunity for the students to learn more about Daystar University and its academic offerings. On the last day of the trip, the team itself at ACK Cathedral Mombasa, to speak to the congregants about Daystar University.
On 26th February, Mr. Sosnes Olindo attanded a Weekend Challenge at Mwaani Girls High School and a Career Fair at Mwaani Boys High School, attended by 11 other school
Through these engagements, we continue to raise our brand awareness and prepare high schoolers as they transition to universities.
