Applied Computer Science student selected for global exchange program

Ms. Mercy Wanjiru Thiga (Adm: 21-2096), a second year BSc Applied Computer Science student at currently the vice president of Daystar Information Technology Associaion (DITA) was recently selected for Global Exchange program. Ms. Thiga travels on her birthday, 7th August, for the Fall Semester at the University of Mississippi in USA.
Ms. Mercy Wanjiru Thiga (Adm: 21-2096), a second year BSc Applied Computer Science student currently the vice president of Daystar Information Technology Associaion (DITA) was recently selected for Global Exchange program. Ms. Thiga travels on her birthday, 7th August, for the Fall Semester at the University of Mississippi in USA. The semester will run from 9th August to 12th December 2023.
Ms Thiga clinched the opportunity in a highly competitive national competition along with another student from a different Kenyan university. The selection is based on merit, GPA, leadership attributes, course of study, current and future or expected contributions. She took and highly passed her interview and TOEFL exams and currently awaiting her J-1VISA to be processed.
Mercy is a high performer, with a GPA of 3.75 and cumulative GPA of 3.60 as at the end of January 2023 semester.
Breaking the news, her elated Dean Prof. Martha Kiarie told the Infospot Weekly, "We in the School of Science, Engineering and Health wish her the best."
