Daystar University Wins International Research Grant to Study Shakahola horror
A Daystar University research team has won an international research grant to study the Shakahola horror! The competitive grant was awarded by the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) to a team of researchers led by Prof. Laban Ayiro, the Vice Chancellor. The other researchers are Prof. Egara Kabaji, Dr. Caroline Ayuya Muaka, and Dr. Martin Munyao.
BBC Journalists interact with Communication students
On Thursday 10th August, 2023, Senior Lead Presenter with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), and current MA student at Daystar University, Mr. Waihiga Mwaura, along with BBC Digital Producer and Photojournalist, Mr. Jason Mwangi who is also a Daystar alumnus spent the day at Daystar University Nairobi Campus sharing their experiences with communication students. They were invited by Mr. Nelson Mapesa, a lecturer in the School of Communication.

Applied Computer Science student selected for global exchange program
Ms. Mercy Wanjiru Thiga (Adm: 21-2096), a second year BSc Applied Computer Science student currently the vice president of Daystar Information Technology Associaion (DITA) was recently selected for Global Exchange program. Ms. Thiga travels on her birthday, 7th August, for the Fall Semester at the University of Mississippi in USA. The semester will run from 9th August to 12th December 2023.
We have learnt with saddness the bereavement of Daystar University's First Chancellor, Dr. James Kamunge (1994-2004), who has lost his daughter, Anne Kamunge-Shambi. The Memorial service will be held today Friday, August 25, at Ridgeways Baptist Church, from 2:00pm. The Cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home on Saturday August 26 at 8:00am for Kangocho, Nyeri, where a graveside burial will be conducted from 11:00am same day.
