Daystar University Library partners with like minded institutions in promoting a reading culture in Kenya. We partner with the National Book Development Council of Kenya (NBDC-K) in various community based reading promotion activities that include the Library Book Week and annual National Book Week Celebrations held at our Nairobi campus grounds. We also engage in training teacher librarians in the establishment of school libraries and organize Children Reading Tents (CRT’s) for primary school children. Daystar University library has conducted reading promotion activities to over 30 primary schools in Athi River Division, Athi River District. Daystar University Library is an active member of the Kenya Library Association, and member of Christian Association of Librarians in Africa (CALA). At international level, we are also member to the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).
We would like to partner with you in fulfilling the mission and vision of Daystar University Library and also in meeting our corporate social responsibility. We invite individuals and corporates who would like to partner with us in building our collection - in book and non-book formats. We desire to establish a Children’s library and welcome material/financial support for furniture, equipment and books/toys/visual aids. We too would like to establish a community based information resource Center to build on our earlier initiatives on reading promotion and community empowerment through information. .
