University Librarian Welcomes Students

Home > News

I take this opportunity to welcome all our students to the January 2020 semester. In particular, I extend a warm welcome to our new students at the main campus and the Nairobi campus. For the benefit of the new students, the University Library is fully automated and networked thus giving you equal access to all print and electronic library information resources. Each of our physical campus libraries are well stocked with diverse print book collections, journals, and other publications that cater for your various academic programs. In addition, the University has invested greatly in modern technologies and has a well-resourced online library with diverse current full text e-books and e-journals that you will find very useful for your academic programs and research. I invite you all to log in to the online library to experience the wealth of our dynamic digital library collection.

Upon full registration as a bona fide student of Daystar University, online students shall automatically be registered to the Library. You will have full rights to access and use our print library collections, and the online library. For the students at the main campus who did not manage to attend our physical library orientation, I urge you to visit the main Library for induction and membership registration.

Access to online Library

To access the online Library, you shall be assigned your user credentials to log in. The Library shall conduct digital information literacy skills training on how to access the online library for study and research. In addition to the print collections, our two physical libraries have well equipped multi-media resource centres where you can access the online library. You can also access the Wi-Fi enabled online library within the campus environs. In addition, you can access the online library off-campus for study, research, and lifelong learning at the convenience of your home, hostels, or any other networked environment globally. To access the online library, please visit the library web page on or through the e-learning platform to check out our instructional videos on how to log in to the online library, and how to access and use the online library.

May God bless you as you embark on your academic journey in Daystar University.
