Welcome to the University Chaplaincy

Daystar Compassion and Care Centre (DCCC), is a branch of the Community Life Department in Daystar. DCCC was launched in 2013 in response to the rising need for addressing various health challenges affecting the Daystar community. The aim of the Center is to create awareness on various health issues and provide psychological support for students, staff, community and the society at large. It is comprised of a vibrant and well trained staff, students and community volunteers who are passionate about helping people. The Centre has also partnered with several institutions, government and non- governmental organizations to realize its vision and mission.

To make Daystar a lead model university in promoting holistic health from a Christian perspective in Africa and the rest of the world.

 

Mission

To provide leadership in the prevention and management of various health related challenges by offering Christ centered behavior change programs and psychological services.

12 Step Group
Mondays: for addictive behaviors: alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, pornography, etc.

 

Life group
Tuesday: support for the people with chronic illness or diabetes: HIV/AIDS

 

Health Awareness Day
Wednesdays: open for all: training, health talks, workshops, seminars, diabetes, movies etc.

 

Hope Group
Thursdays: for trauma related issues: rape, robbery, violence, accidents etc.

 

Family Group
Fridays: for family related issues: dysfunctional relationship, addiction, chronic illness, death of loved ones etc.

 

Compassion Group
Saturday: outreach and visit to community, hospitals, rehabs, home, schools, churches, orphanage, prisons etc.
