Wavinya Ndeti, who was at war with the dispute resolution committee of the Independent Electrol and Boundaries Commission(IEBC), because they wanted to block her from vying from the Machakos governor’s seat with claims of political mischief, saying that she had not followed the law and did not qualify to contest for the seat under the wiper party, is now free to go for the seat. Wavinya maintained that she had followed the law as required by IEBC before the deadline set. The high court gave Wavinya the go-ahead to run for the seat under the wiper party.
Moses Kuria, the Gatundu South MP was treated with hostility by Kisii residents after he criticized Raila Odinga, the National Super Alliance(NASA) presidential candidate, as he was campaigning for president Uhuru Kenyatta. Kuria was accompanied by local Jubilee officials and Amos Kimunya, the former trade minister. Moses Kuria was booed by rowdy youth who consistently kept shouting Raila Odinga’s praises. The crowd kept mentioning NASA, and asking where the unga(flour) is at. Moses tried to calm them by mentioning projects that the Jubilee administration has pioneered in the county, unsuccessful though.
The National Super Alliance(NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga has returned to Maasai land, joined by other principles, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavavi, Moses Wetangula and Isaac Ruto, after being accused of inciting the Masaai community against non-maasai. The team will hold rallies in Oloitoktok, Kimaana and Kitengela. Raila said, “We continue asking those who are registered as proprietors to stop selling land that they hold in trust.” MP Moses Sakuda of the county warned the NASA team against getting involved in the community’s matters, because there of the tensions on going in the county.
