Daystar University marked its 39th graduation yesterday at Athi River Campus seeing 706 of its students walk out with degrees.

About 480 of the graduands were female and 226 male from the five out of six schools Daystar University has. The five schools are namely; The School of Communication, Language and Performing Arts, The School of Human and Social Sciences, The School of Science, Engineering and Health, The School of Business and Economics, and last but not least, The School of Arts and Humanities.

The security was tight during the event with the Securex Officers working alongside the Administration Police and the Kenya Police to ensure that security was beefed up. Time was as well well kept. The event ended at 12:30pm instead of the expected 1:00pm

The ceremony was meant to recognize the students’ hardwork and perseverance through the four years of study. For this reason, aside walking away with degrees, some students managed to scoop some eyed awards. John Brian Oyaro, the former Students’ President scooped the Vice Chancellor’s award.

The University Chancellor Professor Mary Murimi commissioned the graduands to go do great things. As is Daystar University’s tradition, the event ended by observing the Order of the Towel where each graduate was given a towel with the inscription from Luke 22:26.
