Meeting that sparkled bad blood between Cord leader Raila Odinga and Wetang’ula

Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula declared that Cord leader Raila Odinga should not contest the presidency in 2017 may have sparkled bad blood between them. The meeting was to identify the coalition’s flag bearer.

Mr. Wetang’ula has been issuing the controversial statement while lamenting his exclusion from the former prime minister’s tour in western Kenya. Their meeting was held in Maanzoni lodge three weeks ago in which the media was kept away from. It was organised to discuss the method in which Cord will choose their flag bearer.

Nairobi County inspectorates to work round the clock

The Nairobi county inspectorate will from next week start operating 24 hours a day. It is a recommendation made to be responsible to cracking down on hawkers, illegal dumping of garbage and other violations of county laws.

Nairobi deputy governor Jonathan Mweke said the department is currently operates for only 8 hours a day. He said the garbage contractors take advantage of darkness to dump waste in the city’s backstreet.

Religious leaders want IEBC commissioners to quit.

Kenyan religious leaders on Wednesday proposed the vetting of senior and county staff of the IEBC. The leaders insisted that the commissioners must leave office.

They urged majority leader of the National Assembly Aden Duale and his counterpart Francis Nyenze to sit down with the two committees that is the legals affairs committee and the joint parliamentary committee. They warned against attempt to interfere with next years general elections.

Human Rights Watch shows that 34 people are missing in terror crackdown.

A new report by human rights watch has revealed that 34 people have mysteriously disappeared and eleven others were killed in what is suspected to be coordinated work of local security forces.

Human rights watch collected witness statements shows that all 45 victims may have been under investigation for alleged links to Alshabaab. The eleven people dead had been reportedly arrested by state agents before they went missing. This incidents occurred between between 2013 and 2015.

President Kenyatta urges Kenyans to go for cancer screening

Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Kenyans to go for screening so as to detect the diseases earlier. He said that screening would help patients get treatment easily. He says that cancer has become one of the leading killer diseases because Kenyans do not know of the symptoms.

He also said the government has set aside funds to establish more cancer centers to help fight the disease.

Raila gets a big welcome in Budalangi.

Mr. Raila Odinga received a hero’s welcome in Budalangi during his four tour in the western region. The ODM leader Raila Odinga will spend two days in Budalangi brought businesses to a standstill on his arrival.

The mood was however changed after the supporters started chanting Ababu Namwamba’s name and the police had to disperse them.

She was caught in an embarrassing situation on Tuesday after a defence on her husband appeared to be lifted from Mitchelle Obama’s speech. The similarities were noticed after cheers from the delegates at the Republican National Convention.

The speech was a highlight of the opening of a Republican Convention that is set to formally nominated Donald Trump as the party’s presidential candidate later this week.

Kenya in diplomatic storm with South Sudan over troops.

Kenya president Uhuru Kenyatta voiced his support for a reinforcement in South Sudan. This may have caused a diplomatic storm with Juba.

On Monday, the African Union (AU) asked Kenya and other countries in the region to prepare for their troops for a reinforcement mission in South Sudan, this came as a controversial decision even as Juba rejected the proposal.

President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed need for urgent reinforcement with the change of the UN peacekeeping troops in South Sudan as a response to the ongoing violence in Juba.

Raila Calls for quick solution over Maseno township chaos.

Maseno township has been the center of controversy between ┬áthe two counties Kisumu and Vihiga with the two counties claiming it’s ownership.

Cord leader Raila Odinga urged the leadership of the two counties to end the conflict over the location of Maseno township. He said the two communities Luo and Luhya have co-existed peacefully in the area for decades and needs to continue with the same.

Mr. Odinga urged the two leadership to find a lasting solution.

Ababu Namwamba Complains about ODM party leader visit

Budalangi Member of parliament, Ababu Namwamba and John Waluke of Sirisia applauded plans of ODM party leader Raila Odinga to visit the area at the end of this week. However Ababu criticized the move saying that the ODM leader has never stepped foot in Budalangi ever since the 2013 presidential bid. He urged the Union leader Raila Odinga and other party members that they should aim to visist the west with a mission to preach development.
