Fees and Scholarships for Short Courses

ILPD students pay Kshs.9,500 the short courses that last one week (thirty contact hours). Limited scholarships are offered to needy students depending on the availability of funds. But the student must pay at least one third of the course fees to be considered for the scholarship award except as may be allowed by the existing ILPD Scholarship Policy in regard to students who qualify for additional scholarship. Before a student is considered for the scholarship award, he/she must submit a completed course application and a commitment fee of Kshs. 1500. This fee is part of the total course fees and is refundable only if Daystar University cancels the course. However special fee rates are given to students who organize themselves to take a given course as group of at least 50 students or more.

Not-for-credit option

Students taking ICMT courses may opt to take them for personal enrichment without having to do additional work for credit purposes. Such students will not be required to take examinations or do additional assignments. After the 30 contact of hours of seminar classes for a given course, they will be awarded a Certificate indicating that they have set through the required 30 hours of course seminar, as it has been the practice in the past.

ICMT will offer limited scholarships to students depending on the availability of funds and upon a prayerful consideration of individual student’s needs. However, before a student is considered for scholarship award, he/she must submit a completed course application form and a commitment fee of Kshs. 1000. This fee is part of the total course fees and is refundable only if Daystar University cancels the course. The total scholarship that may be awarded to the student would not be more than two thirds of the course fees except as may be allowed by the existing ICMT Scholarship Policy in regard to students who qualify for additional scholarship.

Extension centers/outpost training

Outside Nairobi, ICMT operates by identifying individuals, churches, or other institutions that are willing to partner with Daystar University to bring courses closer to the people in a given area. ICMT facilitates the recruitment of the students and makes lecturers available to conduct the training.
