Staff Appointed to National Boards
The Acting DVC Finance and Administration Prof. Michael Bowen has been appointed Chairman of the Industrial Development Bank (Capital), for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 23rd June, 2019. The appointment was announced in a Kenya Gazette Notice signed by the President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta.
Faculty Member in the School of Business and Economics Mr. Thomas Koyier has been appointed member of the Insurance Tribunal, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 3rd May, 2019. The appointment was announced vide Gazette Notice by the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Planning.
The Infospot congratulates both Prof. Bowen and Mr. Koyier for their respective appointments to serve the country in different capacities.
Newest PhD Holder
Dr. Roseline Olumbe is the latest PhD holder at Daystar University. Dr. Olumbe has recently graduated with a PhD in Holistic Child Development from Asia Pacific Nazarene Theological Seminary on 4th May 2019. We congratulate Dr. Olumbe for this achievement.
Staff Promotions and Re-Deployments
The HR Department is pleased to announce the following staff changes:
Mr. Joab Namai: Has been redeployed the Department of Education, School of Arts and Humanities, as a Tutorial Fellow. Before this redeployment, Mr. Namai was serving as the Coordinator Collaborative Programmes and Personal Assistant to the DVC (AA)
Ms. Patricia Minoo Wambua: Has been redeployed to the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) as the Acting Coordinator Collaborative Programmes and Personal Assistant to the DVC (AA). She is the immediate former Acting School Administrator – School of Arts and Humanities.
Mrs. Ann Kasangi has been appointed to perform the duties of School Administrator in the School of Arts and Humanities.

Gender Forum by AMWIK
The Association of Media Women in Kenya has organized a Gender Forum titled ‘Fake News, A Catalyst to Silence Women’s Voices’. The Gender Forum is a monthly public dialogue convened by Heinrich Boll Stiftung since 2001. It encourages dialogue on pertinent national issues with a gendered lens bringing together scholars, lawmakers, and implementers, civil activists, government institutions, students and the general public aiming at sharing knowledge and inspiring gendered analysis of policy and programmes. This will take place on 14th May, 2019 at Alliance Francais from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. ENTRY IS FREE!
