Health Awareness Week
The Daystar Compassion and Care Centre (DC3) hosted the January Semester health awareness week for the Nairobi Campus from Monday 11th to Friday 15th February 2019.
The aim of the health week was to raise awareness on healthy living. Free health checkups were offered to both the staff and students throughout the week.
The Coptic Hospital offered weight, height and blood sugar checkups while Lang’ata Hospital concentrated on body mass index (BMI), optical, dental blood pressure and HIV tests.
Additionally, DC3 staff and students led the Tuesday Chapel as part of the health awareness week.
The theme for Wednesday 13th February was Sex and the City, while Thursday 14th February focused on ‘Valentine’s Day’, with DC3 conducting a love language test that attracted many students. They also offered games with the participants competing for various rewards.
The DC3 Vice Chairperson, Quinton said, “I was impressed by the great number of students that turned up for health checkups and the love language test. This week has been a successful one due to the support from students, faculty and staff.”
