Daystar Compassion and Care Centre Chapel
On 12th February, 2019 Daystar Compassion and Care Centre commonly known as DC3 hosted the Tuesday chapel courtesy of the Chaplaincy, marking the height of the Health Awareness week.
The chapel theme, “Declaring God’s Love” drawn from John 13:34 was used to promote healthy relationships that are anchored on God’s Love.
The chapel was an open discussion forum facilitated by a panel of five drawn from faculty and students.
During the panel discussion, the Deputy Director for Research and Publications Dr. Leah Komen urged young people to prioritize and wait for the right time when pursuing love. She submitted that there is always time for everything under the sun.
The students’ counsellor Mr. Allan Ball punctuated the discussion with a humorous closing remark: “if you find the right person you are complete, if you find the wrong person you are incomplete and if the wrong person finds the wrong person they are completely finished!”
Sylvia, a student, emphasized more on finding purpose and seeking God’s guidance before getting into a relationship, while Charles Loro, also a student, encouraged fellow students to abstain from sex before marriage, adding he had made a conscious choice in his nine-year relationship.
Students’ counsellor Mrs. Susan Boto who hosted the special chapel concluded the session with prayer for the broken hearted and pointing them to God, “the mender of the broken hearted,” according to Isaiah 61.
