Hundreds Attend the Alumni Kesha
Daystar Christian Fellowship in collaboration with Commission Fellowship International (Daystar Alumni Missions group) co-hosted the first ever Alumni ‘kesha’ in Daystar Athi River campus on September 14, 2018.
The event that took place at the ICT theatre saw students, staff and Alumni from as far back as 2009 come together for a time of prayer and worship. The theme for the evening was drawn from Daniel 1:3-8.
The DCF worship team opened the event with uplifting praise and worship, which was followed by a session of prayer and intercession for the University management, leadership and students among others.
The highlight of the evening was the sermon delivered by Rev. Gordon Odira of CITAM Karen Assembly, also a former DCF Chair. He called on the congregants to be men and women of all seasons, as depicted in Daniel 1:3-8. Rev. Odira encouraged students to maintain purity and excellence in campus. “Be problem solvers in the marketplace and stand firm in time of danger just like Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego,” he advised.
The Alumni also shared their testimonies of God’s faithfulness in their lives and their journey of faith over the years.
CFI is an international organization founded by Daystar’s Alumni members, as a platform for Alumni to get involved in missions, and to provide Christian guidance to students in Campus.
“Our aim is to reach the graduating students and provide them with an easy platform to land on and grow in matters of faith,” said Mr. Karani, CFI Director.
In his closing remarks, the Daystar Christian Fellowship Chair, Mr. Paul Ogolla appreciated the alumni for their willingness to collaborate and work with the continuing students. He also encouraged students to join CFI once they graduate, to enable them make relevant networks and grow in faith.
