New Students Officially Admitted into Daystar
First year students who reported for the August 2018 semester were officially admitted into various Daystar University academic programmes for which they had applied at separate matriculation ceremonies held on Wednesday August 22nd at the Athi-River campus, and on Thursday August 23rd at the Nairobi Campus..
In his matriculation address the Vice-Chancellor Rev. Prof James Kombo welcomed the new students and thanked them for choosing Daystar. He invited the students to make use of every moment and opportunity to grow themselves, so that they can present themselves to the world as men and women with dignity, and the kind of training that will place them ahead of the rest in the job market.

“Today we don’t talk about wisdom. Instead, we concentrate on acquiring knowledge. I want to invite you to use space in the expansive Athi River campus to acquire wisdom which cannot be acquired from books,” he advised.
On his part, Ag. Deputy VC (Academic Affairs) Prof. Bernard Boyo challenged the new students to consider their time on campus as very important in shaping what they wish to be in the future. He called on the students to be open and look at the period they will be at Daystar as a time to develop themselves. “We are here as parents, facilitators and friends. Make use of us and the opportunities you have been given in the university to develop yourselves,” he urged.
Prof. Boyo said the University had many activities for people gifted in various ways. The students pledged to abide by the University’s code of conduct by signing the declaration of assent, by which they were officially admitted to become Daystar University students.
