Unforgettable day for Kilungu Boys’ School
Frequently, Daystar University receives students from various high schools across the countryfor a facility tour of the University. The aim of the visits is to familiarize themselves with what happens in a university setting.
On 18th July 2018, the University hosted Kilungu Boys Secondary School at the Athi River Campus. They were received and hosted by the Marketing Assistant, Mr. Sosnes Olindo.
Upon arrival, the students were ushered to the ICT Theatre, where Sosnes took time to explain Programmes offered at Daystar University and gave them the opportunity to ask questions.
“Hard work and self-discipline is the key ingredient for success; don’t wait to be told what to do,” he cautioned Student Counselor in the Student Affairs Department Mr. Allan Ball gave a motivational talk to the students, advising them to be self-driven given that they were in their final year of secondary school.
Sam, a Mathematics major student at Daystar encouraged the aspiring students to join Daystar and especially to consider enrolling for Sciences such as Mathematics.
As the students broke for lunch, they were excited and couldn’t wait for the next session where they were divided into small groups for a guided tour of the Athi River Campus. They got to see the classrooms, the library, the playgrounds, communication studios and computer labs among other places.
As the tour came to an end, the students went back to their school fulfilled while on the other hand, Daystar hopes to see them back as university students soon after their KCSE.
