In June 2017, Daystar University Chancellor, Prof. Mary Murimi, held an inaugural “Chancellor’s Forum” in which she, together with colleagues from the US, held a training session on grant writing; which was then followed with a well-attended conference under the theme Separating Facts from Myths: Towards Strategic Communication on Health and Nutrition Issues in Africa”
One of the major objectives of the research grant writing was for university faculty and staff, divided in various groups during the training, to continue the foundational work to a successful completing.
One such group, working under the leadership of Sr. Prof. A. L. Lando, has been working on their research proposal and it has borne fruit. She announced this good news to her team members over the weekend, in these words: “it’s with deep gratitude to God and yourselves, that I share the good news that our Abstract on Plastic Research has been accepted by a prestigious Communication-Research focused Association, the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) for oral presentation in 20 – 24 June 2018 in Eugene, Oregon, USA.
