Expert talks During Daystar Academic Month
Daystar University Student Association (DUSA), in partnership with various Schools, has lined up expert guest speakers drawn from different fields of specialization. . The talks which begun on 8th March for undergraduate students shall continue until 29th March 2018. Talks for Masters’ students will take place in the month of April.
At the Nairobi Campus, talks for the School of Arts and Humanities happened on 8th March, 15th March for the School of Human & Social Sciences, 19th and 22nd March for the School of Communication, 26th and 29th March for the School of Business and Economics , The School of Science, Engineering & Health will hold its talks in Athi River Campus on 29th March, 2018.
According to DUSA President Nairobi Campus Mr. Aloys Otieno, the talks are aimed at enabling students to strengthen their careers as they hear experts speak on topical issues. Also, it is expected that these organizations will offer internship opportunities to Daystar students.
Ambassador Kigo Kariuki, Chief Executive Officer, Safety Surveyors Limited charged the International Relations students to be open minded, to enable them tackle issues of the modern world.
The Ag VC Prof James Kombo receive Amb. Kigo Kariuki in his office after the talk.Dr. Gladys Mwiti, Director of Oasis Africa and Dr. Cynthia Ireri from Zeal International spoke to psychology students on the topic, ‘Timeless Principles for Psychologists’.
Juma Assiago, Coordinator, Safer Cities Programme at UN-HABITAT did a presentation on ‘Timeless Principles for the Developing Niche Market’. He explicitly stated that UNHABITAT is working in line with the Kenya Vision 2030 to ensure that urban cities are safer in all dimensions.
Meanwhile, DUSA is in the process of planning a forum for Nursing students, while talks for Athi River campus which will be held on 29th March for all the schools.
