DLPDI Graduates: Strategic Planning and implementation Leaders for Church and Organizations
The Daystar Leadership and Professional Development Institute (DLPDI) on 2nd March 2018 graduated 25 leaders from various churches and organizations, following four days training in Strategic Planning and implementation. The training ran from 28th February to 1st March, 2018.
The Ag. DVC Academic Affairs, Prof Bernard Boyo urged the graduands to be godly scholars of strategy focued on being implementers rather than just talkers. By doing this, he said they shall have removed self-deception, and their change of attitude would epitomize their success in ministry. “The course is strategic for you, share it with others and apply the knowledge to your institutions,” he encouraged.
Using the analogy of a shepherd who goes ahead of the sheep, Prof. Boyo urged the graduands to be pacesetters and to risk their lives for the sake of the people they lead. He further charged them to apply the knowledge they had acquired at the training, in their various ministries as experts in strategic planning.
DLPDI Director Prof. Waithima applauded the graduands and emphasized on the important role strategic planning played in ministry. “The most crucial test of greatness happens when there is turbulence, because when confronted with a challenge in leadership, turbulence prompts opportunities to ask the right questions,” he submitted, adding that the ideals and results drawn from a crisis act as a plumbline to measure success in the implementation of a strategy.”
Dr. Duncan Irungu, representing the team of facilitators, congratulated the graduands and commended them for their resilience.
The trainees were drawn from EDI Christian Fellowship Church, CITAM, Administration Police Community Church-Maua, Deliverance LCCI, Limuru, HOB, Kahawa Sukari, Kenya Assemblies of God (K.A.G), New Scent Centre International, Chrisco, Agape Fellowship Ministry, AIC, ACK, Gospel Revival Centre, Oasis of Love International Ministries, and African Holy Ghost Christian Church.
The ceremony climaxed with the graduates receiving certificates and a cake cutting ceremony to celebrate the successful completion of the course.
