AG. VC urges Staff and Faculty to Walk Together
The New Year began in earnest with the Ag. Vice Chancellor Prof. James Kombo urging staff and faculty to walk, talk and work together.
The call punctuated Prof. Kombo’s day long address to staff and faculty at the Athi River campus on 4th January where he hosted the VC’s day to discuss the issues that led to an early closure of the University for the students.
Staff and faculty appreciated the opportunity to go over the issues together and to have a common understanding.
“Now I can say I understand the issues raised by students and I can give an answer if asked a question,” said former Dean of Students, Mr. David Thuku.
The meeting was the first major key milestone immediately after resumption of work from the short Christmas holiday which started on 21th December 2017.
Earlier on 3rd January 2018 as staff resumed work, Prof. James Kombo chaired a Management Board meeting to review the University’s preparedness for the students return on 8th January 2018.
The Ag. Vice Chancellor’s Day with staff and faculty was organized by the Crisis Communication Committee of Senate.
