Shine FM Week
Monday 2nd October to Friday 5th October 2017 was the Shine FM week in Athi River Campus. The week saw students vibrantly participating in different activities including interactions with radio hosts, games at the PAC court, and campus tour by the Shine FM staff and management, as they gave T-shirts to those who answered questions related to Shine FM.
On Thursday 4th October a red carpet GALA night was held at the amphitheater. Representing the School of Communication Language and Performing Arts was Dr. Clayton Peel. Also present were Shine FM management and staff, and Daystar University students.
The students who attended got an opportunity to participate in various competitions including dance, anchoring, news reporting and singing competitions. The gala night was organized by the corporate function of Shine FM, a department headed by Shine FM Corporate Manager, Tevin Sherah.
“It was a successful event because we did not expect such an overwhelming crowd,” said Rogato Abraham, Shine FM Production Manager. “We put in a lot of effort and time to organize this event, and the week’s activities and we thank God it has been a success,” he added.
Shine FM Week is a time in the semester when people get to meet the voices behind the microphone. It is also a time that awareness is created about the existence of Shine FM.
As the Shine FM week came to a conclusion it was evident that their goals had been met; hundreds of students had interacted with their radio hosts, which made the station more known by students and staff, who make up part of the Shine FM audience.
