Peace Cake Initiative
Student counselors at Daystar Mr. Allan Ball, Ms. Susan Botto and Ms. Irene Kimani together with the Peer Counselors, Daystar University Peer Educators and Counselors (DUPEC) and Daystar Compassion and Care Center (DCCC) student leaders, held a Peace Cake Initiative after Chapels both in Nairobi and Athi-River.
The Initiative was to promote peace during and after elections in Kenya. They welcomed other Students leaders like DUSA and DCF to cut with them the peace Cake as a sign of Unity. In Nairobi the cake was cut after the day DCCC Chapel at Freedom Corner, and the evening DCCC Chapel right outside Bethel Church led by DUPEC Chair Nairobi Miss Joy Lang’at and her team.
Mrs Regina Wangare Kemboi of NURU sang the song “MKenya Daima” by Eric Wainana, DCF Worship Team DUWOT led with the same song as they cut the cake. In Athi DUPEC Chair Miss Naomi Dan Karami and her team assisted in cutting the cake as Imela Staff Worship Team led in the MKenya Daima song right after Chapel. PAC Reception Small Group also participated in the peace Cake Intiative at Athi-River.
Kenyan bracelets were also distributed showing Unity and most wore the Kenyan colours dress code with white being predominant showing peace. The cake was decorated with Kenyan colours with the message of peace “Amani Kenya”. We wish you all a peaceful election.
